MFG Day at MacLean Maynard - Maynard Welcomes Anchor Bay High School

On October 2, 2015, Maclean Maynard, Chesterfield, Michigan, participated in MFG Day. MFG Day is a national, annual event to promote students to gain hands-on knowledge about the manufacturing industry.

As part of Maynard’s initiative to partner with high schools and community colleges to showcase the rewarding, highly skilled jobs available in manufacturing fields, 15 Anchor Bay High School Students visited the plant. The students learned about MacLean-Fogg, our products and career opportunities. Additionally, they toured the plant floor and spoke with operators. A BIG thanks to all the employees who were involved and made this day a success!

MFG Day is a celebration of what 12 million people around the United States experience every day—pride at working in manufacturing. Over the next decade, it is estimated that nearly 3.5 million U.S. manufacturing jobs will be needed and 2 million of those jobs are expected to go unfilled due to the inability to find talent with the required skills. This year, there was an estimated 2,800 events across the country designed to introduce as many people as possible to the significant role played by manufacturing including in Metro Detroit Area.
