Safety Basics Have Gone LIVE at MFCS!
The week of August 3, 2015 marked an important moment in the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) journey at MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions (MFCS) with the facilitation of the FIRST (post-pilot) Safety Basics class!
EHS at MFCS is driven by a balanced focus on 3 key areas; Training & Education, Systems & Compliance, and Behaviors & Culture, which support the business’ commitment to excellence. Safety Basics support each of these 3 key areas by empowering and providing tools to each participant. Individuals who become Safety Basics certified are equipped to continually improve the safety of their work area.
Safety Basics is a multi-day class formatted similarly to Lean Basics and will cover the following subjects: Safety Theory, Safety Management Systems Overview, Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment, OSHA Inspections, Standard Work as it relates to Safety, Safety Leadership, Culture, and Awareness of OSHA Regulatory Topics including:
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Emergency Action Plan
• Lock-out Tag-out Try-out (LOTOTO)
• Confined Space
• Machine Guarding
• Incident Investigation
• Material Handling
• Ergonomics
• Powered Industrial Trucks (such as Forklifts)
• Hazard Communication
• Hazardous Materials
• Slips, Trips, & Falls
• Electrical
Safety Basics will continue to be offered into the future.
